Chris Renaud’s birth took place on November 30, 1966, in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The family moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, when he was 15, as his father, who worked for Bethlehem Steel, was transferred to their main office.

Early Career
Soon after graduating, Renaud began working as a graphic designer in the sports entertainment industry and made logos and mascots for the NFL, NBA, Foot Locker, etc. After that, he began drawing comics for Marvel Comics and DC Comics.

Other works
Chris Renaud then began working with cartoon animals, including The Book of Pooh, Bear in the Big Blue House, and LazyTown, and as the lead visual development and design for It's a Big Big World.
He has worked as a story artist on Robots, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and Horton Hears a Who! While co-directing the short film No Time for Nuts.
After moving to Paris, he started working for Illumination Entertainment.
