Conan Stevens – Career

Before fame

Having served in the Australian army, Conan Stevens was already a professional wrestler (also called improv stunt theatre) before he took a shot at acting. Back then, he worked with camp UK comedian Julian Cleary on his stage show and toured Australia with him.

For nine years, Stevens wrestled to obtain the title of Tag Team Champion and Australian Heavyweight Champion three times. But because of a nerve injury (Guillain-Barré syndrome), his promising wrestling career was jeopardized. So, Conan Stevens opened a laptop repair and business IT support center, working there for several years until his body healed.

Early Career

Following the slow recovery of his body, Conan Stevens moved to Thailand to work as a stuntman. There, he starred in several movies, including Powerkids, Muay Thai Giant, and the French movie L'Ile Au(x) Tresors. Stevens also co-wrote Bangkok Adrenaline (2009). He worked in Thai movies for 7 years before seeking international attention.

Film, Series

Stevens also starred in Southeast Asian and East Asian cinema, including two Indian movies, Drona and Chandni Chowk To China. In 2011, he was cast as "The Mountain" Gregor Clegane in two episodes of Game of Thrones, followed by roles in The Hobbit trilogy, as Thor in the 2013 film Vikingdom.

He has acted in films including Skin Trade (2015), Blood Hunters: Rise of the Hybrids (2018), Empty by Design (2019), and the series Spartacus: Vengeance (2012), Encantadia (2016-2017), Victor Magtanggol (2018).
