Who is Jax Taylor?

Jax Taylor is a TV personality, model, actor, and reality TV star by profession and American by nationality. He is best known for starring in Bravo TV’s reality show Vanderpump Rules, and its spin-off Vanderpump Rules: Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky.

Jax Taylor – Birth, Parents, Siblings

Jax Taylor’s birth took place on July 11, 1979, in Shelby Township, Michigan, USA. He was born Jason Michael Cauchi to parents Marie and Ronald Cauchi. His mother is of Australian descent, while his father is of Maltese roots. Taylor is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a sister named Jenny Lynn.

Jax Taylor was educated at Eisenhower High School, from where he graduated in 1998. He enrolled at Michigan State University and a community college, but soon dropped out to join the Navy. He had served in the Navy for 6 months and 4 days.

Jax Taylor began dating Brittany Cartwright in May 2015. Cartwright is also a reality star and his co-star on Vanderpump Rules. After dating for three years, he and his girlfriend got engaged in Malibu, California, on June 7, 2018.

Taylor revealed via social media in April that he and his fiancée will get married in June 2019. The pair tied the knot on June 29, 2019. He and his wife welcomed their first child, son Cruz Michael, in April 2021. In July 202,2 the couple shared that they are planning on having more children.

Their relationship has been rocked by cheating scandals. Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024.

He has moved on with a new woman and is dating influencer and model Paige Woolen.

Before fame

After leaving the Navy, Jax Taylor pursued a career in modeling. He moved to Europe and also lived in New York City between the years 2002 and 2010 so that he could work as a male model. 

Back then, he shared his New York apartment with four other models, including Channing Tatum.

Worked in

As his modeling career took off, he was signed to Ford Models. Over the course of his career, Jax Taylor has appeared in magazines including Trump Magazine, V Man, GQ Japan, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, 944 Magazine, Esquire, Instinct, CosmoGirl, and Out.

Moreover, he worked with numerous companies in campaigns such as Target, Macy's, JCPenney, Old Navy, Nordstrom, Kohl's, Sketchers, Paul Mitchell, AussieBum, 2(x)ist, Taco Bell, and Abercrombie & Fitch. After a short break, he resumed modeling in 2018.

Taylor also started working at Lisa Vanderpump's restaurants SUR and Villa Blanca. His job at the restaurants earned him a spot on Vanderpump Rules in the year 2013. The reality series deals with the everyday lives of the SUR and Villa Blanca servers.

Following the success, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright got their own spin-off series titled Vanderpump Rules: Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky in 2017. The series featured them traveling to Kentucky, Cartwright's hometown.

In addition to modeling and appearing in a reality show, Taylor has collaborated with XCALIBUR BRAND to create a shoe and sweater collection named Jax Taylor by XCALIBUR BRAND, and in 2014, he created a fitness app. 

Also, he has appeared in Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens (2016) and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2010).
