Reece King was born as Reece Anthony King on November 1, 1994, in Essex, England. He is not the only child of his parents has two siblings- an older brother and an older sister. He is of mixed race as his father is a Caucasian man with Irish roots and her mother is African- American from Saint Vincent, Caribbean. King was raised by his single mother.

Reece King’s sexuality had long been a subject of discussion. He shared that once he had lost a job because his employers thought he looked “too femme." King never thought that his sexuality would be of importance to others.

Determined to end all the speculations, in January 2018, Reece King opened up about his sexuality in an interview with GayTimes magazine. He revealed that he is bisexual. He also added that it did take some time to “come out” due to biphobia, which is also present in the fashion world. 

He further added, "I think a lot more creative LGBTQ people have taken the limelight, especially on social media. We see them on mood boards at shoots for inspiration. If people just keep doing their thing unapologetically, it breaks down the barriers in more homophobic environments."

King is the one living under the eyes of millions of Instagram followers, but manages to keep his personal life private. Although he has opened up about his sexuality, he is secretive about his love life. Due to the lack of a girlfriend/boyfriend in his life, he is assumed to be a single man.

Reece King – Career

King worked odd jobs before fame. To support his mother, he worked long retail hours for minimum wage.  During his free time, he regularly broadcast through YouNow and loved to skate and hang out with friends.

Reece King had not thought about modeling as a career. This career came to him as a surprise in 2016. With his killer jaws, striking good looks, and well-addressed fashion sense, one of his Instagram pictures went viral. The picture had him wearing a LAMODA septum ring. The retail brand LAMODA also caught the “Instagram fever”, which they reposted.

Within weeks, he had over 500,000 Instagram followers. So, Reece King, too, went along with the flow and is one of the “Instagram Royals." The British clothing brand Deck reached out for business, asking him to advertise their brand. Soon, Deck offered him to sell his clothes under his name and hence the collection ‘Deck x King’.

In October 2017, he was featured in the debut single of Tafari Hinds, a Jamaican-born musician and model.

In fashion

In May 2018, Reserve, a Polish high-street brand, announced that Reece King would indeed be the face of Re.Design, the brand’s summer capsule collection. The brand has also been known to pave the path of now supermodels Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, and Brooklyn Beckham, among others.

Currently, he is signed by SUPA Model Management, the firm that also manages Jeremy Meeks, also known as “hot felon."  He was signed to the firm by his current agent, Leah Hibbert, whom he had met two weeks after fame. In 2014, Reece King was featured in Someone Like Me, a global MTV campaign about safe sex. King has also worked along with GAP, Forever 21, and John Elliott.

In addition to being a model, Reece King has also ventured into fashion design.

Tattoos on Reece King’s body really match his personality, and he loves them! He got his first tattoo when he was only 14, and he seems to have a liking for animal tattoos.
